The Freixent group is one of the largest Spanish companies known for its quality sparkling wines. Within the group they have various wineries throughout Spain, some like Conde de Caralt also producing Sparkling wines but other are producing wines specific to the region such as the Albarino from Vionta or Garbo from Montsant. New to the Freixenet portfolio is Oroya. Developed as a special project, Yako Soto, a Japanese Freixenet Wine Maker, spent a year developing a wine specifically for Sushi. It has received worldwine accliam in such magazines as Market Watch, Decanter and the Globe and Mail.
